Pirots 3
What happens when a studio famous for reinventing the wheel does it for the third time? That's Pirots 3 for you.
ELK Studios took its old little flock of collector birds, stripped off their parrot costumes, and dropped them into a saloon-soaked Wild West instead of yet another island. It's loud, busy and sometimes chaotic, but slots that never sit still are your vibe, then you're in for an amazing ride.
If you happen to come across this title while browsing a game lobby and decide to look more into it and realise “Where are the paylines?"—you’re not alone.  That confusion is the whole point of the game, so let's see why.
In this third chapter of the Pirots series, and instead of playing it safe, ELK Studios leaned harder towards the mechanics that made the first two games interesting in the first place.
The mechanics is called CollectR™, and if you've never crossed paths with it, then throw out everything you know about “three matching symbols in a row" mechanics required to enter free spins. This slot has no existing paylines at all. Instead, the action begins on a 6x7 grid with four birds-each one of them tied to a specific gem color-roam around gathering gemstones as they go.
The board doesn't stay put either. It grows as the round goes on, and each collection pushes a feature meter forward, which unlocks upgrades that change how the future collections will work.
On top of the interactive base system, the birds can face off in duels, trains get robbed, a bandit can barge in, and clearing the whole grid sets off a separate coin round. It's less “spin and wait" and more "watch a chaotic western play out in front of you.”

How to play?

As there's no payline system to memorize, getting started in Pirots 3 is all about watching behavior rather than reading matching symbols. Here's how a round plays out:
Step What to do? What happens?
1 Pick your stake. Select how much you'd like to wager before the round starts.
2 Spin the reels. The 6x7 grid loads up with symbols.
3 Look at the birds move. Each one of the four collector parrots patrols the board looking for its matching gem color.
4 Let the birds collect. Every time a bird lands on a gem that matches its color, that particular gem is collected, and its value is counted toward the round.
5 Keep a track of the feature meter. Each one of the successful collection chips away at this meter, and filling it unlocks upgrades.
6 Watch out for special events. Special events like duels, train heists, and bandit intrusions can fire off mid-round without any warning.
7 Let the grid expand. Once the feature kicks in, the grid can grow past its starting size, giving the birds more space to roam.
8 Watch for bonus symbols. Land three of them and watch the main bonus game kick in.
9 Keep your progress. The grid size and meter progress you've built up don't always reset when the bonus starts.
10 Chase the bigger collections. With upgrades stacking up and the board expanding, the later stages usually swing much harder than the early spins.
Each one of the four birds sticks to its own color and collects the same colored gemstone-red hunts red, green hunts green, and so on. So once you've stuck around for a round or two, the logic becomes fairly more clear even without the traditional payline system.

Paytable

Calling this a paytable would take away the traditional meaning of a paytable, as it doesn't have any neat row of three, four, and five-of-a-kind combinations to keep an eye on. Instead, each gem colour has its own payout level, and the level climbs as the feature meter unlocks upgrades. So the value of each gem increases as you proceed further in the round.
Gem symbol Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 Level 6 Level 7
Red gem 0.10x 0.25x 0.50x 0.75x 2.50x 7.50x 30x
Purple gem 0.10x 0.20x 0.40x 0.60x 1.60x 5.00x 15x
Green gem 0.05x 0.15x 0.30x 0.45x 1.20x 3.75x 10x
Blue gem 0.05x 0.10x 0.20x 0.30x 0.80x 2.50x 7.50x
The red gem sits at the top of the paytable, packing a value of 30x at its highest level, while the blue gem has the most modest values of all 4 colored gems. In the initial levels, the ranking doesn't really have that much of a difference, but once the feature meter starts climbing and those upgrade levels begin to kick in, the gap between level-1 and level-7 gem becomes more evident and dramatic.
Besides the main gems, a few special symbols also play an important role in how a round plays out.
Symbol Function
Wild Subs in for any gem at its current payout level.
Bandit wild Plays the role of the highest-paying gem that's currently available.
Coin Awards its displayed multiplier x the current bet.
Upgrade Increases a gem’s payout level.
Upgrade all Raises the payout levels of all the gem colors.
Transform Change a bunch of gems into the collecting bird’s color.
TNT Explodes when collected and can expand the grid.
Peanut Fills up the empty spaces on the grid.
Key Releases the bandit.
Bonus Three collected triggers the bonus game.
Coin symbols are worth keeping an eye on especially since their multipliers can range anywhere from a modest 2x goes up through 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 500x, 1,000x, and even all the way up to 2,500x  on rather rarer cases. If you are lucky enough and end up stacking a big coin hit on top of an already-upgraded gem collection, that's exactly how a session edges towards the game's maximum win 10,000x ceiling.
As so much of this slot runs on progressive collection rather than fixed combinations, it's still wise to glance at the in-game info panel for the exact values and figures on whatever version that you are on.

Gameplay

Each round starts with four birds spread across a busy western grid. Almost instantly they go hunting for their matching gems, and after every grab the board shifts and refills.
The feature meter bumps upward in the background with every single collection, and once it's full enough, the upgrades start kicking in for a change in how the rounds actually play out. Pair this up with a grid that can physically grow larger as things progress, and a single round can look very different than what it did at the beginning.
Gunslinger Duel is probably the highlight of the entire game. When two birds end up in a position where they are next to each other under the right conditions, they can square off, separate, and shoot right across the grid, picking up any symbols that land in their path. If you end up landing three or more adjacent birds, then a duel is guaranteed rather than left to chance.
The train heist is another plot twist. Here, if the same bird manages to grab a symbol from both train-themed positions on the board, then the heist is triggered and can award up to three feature symbols in one go.
Collect a key and Bandit Escape starts. The Bandit storms onto the grid, snatches symbols for himself, and eventually duels the birds head on, which adds real tension mid-round.
Finally, if the grid is fully cleared during the Peanut or Bandit Escape, the Coins Game starts. It can end in coin payouts or in a much less friendly “Scorpio" outcome, which adds the real threat to what looks like a guaranteed bonus.
Put it all together and it rarely feels like a plain spin-and-wait. One round can run through several stages back to back, each one reshaping the board before the next begins.

Special features

CollectR™: This is the engine that drives the whole game. Here, instead of chasing paylines, the birds collect gems instead.
Expanding grid: It initially starts with a 6x7 grid and grows to get bigger once the features trigger, enabling more room for the birds to work with.
Symbol upgrades: The feature measure has the capability of boosting the value of certain gems, bumping their value up their payout levels.
Symbol transformation: Some features are capable of converting symbols into different types mid-round, having a fresh set of symbols to win with.
Gunslinger Duels: Adjacent birds can trigger a duel; three or more adjacent birds can trigger a duel.
Train heist: Collecting from both the train positions with the same bird can award up to three feature symbols.
Bandit Escape: Once you collect a key, it summons the bandit, who happens to collect the symbols and duels the birds until beaten.
Coin game: It is triggered by clearing the grid during the Peanut or Bandit Escape feature; this leads to coin wins or the Scorpio outcome.
Bonus game: Three Bonus symbols trigger it, and your grid size, meter progress, and gem payout levels are carried over into the feature.
Super Bonus: A charged entry from the get-go using maximum grid size from the start; it is a part of ELK’s X-iter lineup, which isn't offered in the UK, where bonus buys are banned.

Theme, Audio, and Layout

Pirots 3 gives the fearful four a complete wardrobe change, changing their old look for gunslinger gear against a backdrop of dusty streets, wooden storefronts, and railway tracks. It is all filtered through ELK’s cartoonish, slightly exaggerated style, transforming into playful and colorful rather than gritty.
The 6x7 grid already has plenty going on, and it gets busier once the features start stacking. Bright, clearly different gem colors make it easier to follow each bird, even when everything is chaotic.
The audio leans towards the saloon piano and western sound cues, and it gets more energetic once the bonus starts. Clarity happens to be the primary design priority, since several mechanics can fire at once, and players on The Online Casino will appreciate that when the screen fills up.

RTP and Volatility

Pirots 3 has a 94% RTP, which happens to be a little below the 96% average that most of the mainstream slots follow. The maximum win of 10,000x the stake has been confirmed by ELK Studios and the game's heavy feature load.
It is a high-volatility slot, meaning you may go through rough patches before you start to look on the brighter end of the slot. And remember RTP is a theoretical figure and not a promise for any single session.
X-iter options are available in some other markets, where they let you buy directly into different feature states instead of waiting for them to trigger. They are not offered in the UK, where buying a bonus is banned, so UK players reach the Bonus Game by landing three bonus symbols.

Pirots 3 on mobile

This translates well on a mobile, even though it has a bigger grid than most slots out there. That 6x7 layout already has a lot happening, and it gets busier once the features expand the board.
The different colored birds do most of the work here. Touch controls will handle the stake controls and start the round smoothly, and bonus rounds stay in the same interface instead of navigating you somewhere else.
A stable connection helps, since sessions are heavy on animation. As always the exact settings and wagering limits will solely depends on the platform and region.
