Baccarat is a fun and exciting game, full of anticipation and mystery. Baccarat is very simple to learn and easy to play. Any game of Baccarat has only three possible outcomes. Either the player wins, the banker wins, or it is a tie. The banker does not mean the house. Participants in the Baccarat card game have the choice to either bet on the player or the banker’s hand. 

Here are the essential steps on how to play the Baccarat card game. 

1. There are only two bets that you can make in a baccarat card game, in each of the hands. One of them is the Banker’s hand; the other one is the Player’s hand. A player can bet on either of the hands. Bets need to be placed or called out before the cards are dealt with. 
2. It is also helpful to learn how cards are dealt with in a Baccarat card game. A casino operator or anyone who is holding the shoe takes one card out and puts it with face-up in the box of the player on the table. Thereafter, the next card is the first of the banker’s hand. It is put in the Banker’s box on the felt table. The operator then deals with another Player and then the Banker card. The dealer’s first round is made up of two cards, each for both the Player and Banker. 
3. The announcement of the point total of both sets of cards is made. 10s and the face cards are all valued at 0; all other cards are valued equal to their face value. The aces are worth 1 point. If the total comes up more than 10, the second digit of the total is the value taken. For example, an 8 and a 6, which total 14, create a 4-point hand. If the hand you bet on is closer to 9, you win. 
4. Another concept to know in a Baccarat card game is what is a ‘natural’ win. If in the first two cards that are dealt, the point total becomes 8 or 9 for any one of the Player or the Banker; this is called a natural win and that game is over there. Bets that have been placed are paid out to the winners immediately.
5. In a Baccarat card game, you have to learn whether the player gets a third card by noticing the total points. The Player hand is finished first. If the player gets a total of 8 or 9, he gets no more cards. The Player stands if the total is 6 or 7. On the total of 0-5, the Player draws the third card, but if the banker has 8 or 9, there is no further draw of cards as the banker gets a natural win.
6. You also need to learn when the third card is dealt with in a Baccarat card game. If the Player stands pat and draws no more cards, the Banker draws a card with a total of 0-5 and stays pat in a hand total of 6 or 7. All other hands depend on the third draw of the player: –
• If the Player’s third card is one of these: 9, 10, a face-card or an Ace. In this case, the Banker draws when he has a total of 0-3 but stays with a 4-7.
• If the Player’s third card is one of these: 8, the Banker draws when he has a total 0-2 but stays with a 3-7.
• If the Player’s third card is one of these: 6 or 7, the Banker draws when he has a total  0-6 but stays with a 7.
• If the Player’s third card is one of these:  4 or 5, the Banker draws when he has a total 0-5 but stays with a 6-7.
• If the Player’s third card is one of these: 2 or 3, the Banker draws when he has total 0-4 but stays with a 5-7.

When all cards have been dealt, you calculate the winning hand. Whichever hand has a total closer to 9, that becomes the winning hand in a Baccarat card game.
